1. Ivan Koloff and Krusher Khrushchev defeated The Kansas Jayhawks (Dutch Mantel and Bobby Jaggers) in a 10-team tournament final for the titles.

2. The titles were vacated in April of 1987 when Dick Murdoch was suspended.

3. Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane) defeated Ron Garvin and Barry Windham in a 6-team a tournament final.

4. The titles were vacated in September 10, 1988 when Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane) won the NWA World Tag Team titles.

5. The Fantastics (Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton) defeated Eddie Gilbert and Ron Simmons in a 7-team tournament final for the titles.

6. The titles were vacated in April of 1989.

7. Tom Zenk and Brian Pillman defeated The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin) in a 8-team tournament final for the titles.

8. The titles were vacated on February 20, 1991 when the Steiner Brothers won the NWA World Tag Team titles.

9. The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin) defeated Young Pistols (Tracy Smothers and Steve Armstrong) to win the titles.

10. The titles were abandoned on July 31, 1992.
